The problem

An 'Engineering, Procurement & Construction' company that designs and builds process plants in the field of recycling technology spent a lot of time managing changes to information. The same data was punched in over and over again by different disciplines and each discipline had its own CAD solution with associated Excel sheets.

A new system was introduced (Siemens COMOS) for all disciplines where all schedules and management of all data in one system. Data is entered ONCE and EVERYONE can see EVERYTHING.

Result

Cost savings through shorter lead times and work efficiency. Increased data quality has resulted in fewer mispurchases and the solution will be expanded to also streamline FAT, SAT and commissioning.
