We have chosen to support climate finance in partnership with ZeroMission, which works on climate projects that combine scientific rigor with social justice. Through standards such as Plan Vivo, the Gold Standard, and the Fairtrade Climate Standard—recognized certifications that ensure climate benefits and social impact—we ensure that the projects deliver real climate benefits and create lasting improvements for people at Location.
The projects are always carried out with strong local involvement, which means that the solutions are developed in collaboration with the communities affected. The focus is not only on reducing or sequestering carbon dioxide, but also on contributing to greater climate resilience, biodiversity, and fair working conditions.

When Your Own Emissions Don't Tell the Whole Story
As a consulting and services firm, we have a limited carbon footprint compared to many other industries. In 2024, our emissions averaged 1.24 metric tons of CO₂e per employee, which is very low in a global context. This is the result of conscious choices in our operations, such as energy-efficient offices, remote work, and a clear shift toward more sustainable travel habits. But even though our direct emissions are small, we see it as our responsibility to continue reducing them further while also contributing beyond our own borders through climate finance.
Public transportation use increased by 142 percent, new electronics purchases decreased, and reuse increased. All of these measures are important, but they are not the entire solution. To contribute to the global transition that is needed, we also need to take action beyond the boundaries of our own systems. This is where climate finance comes in.
Fund Climate Action, Don't Just Offset
We view climate finance as something different from traditional offsetting. It’s not about offsetting our emissions, but about investing in solutions that otherwise wouldn’t happen. It’s a proactive way to support projects that slow climate change and empower people where vulnerability is greatest.
“For us, climate finance isn’t about buying our way out of responsibility; it’s a conscious choice to strengthen our climate responsibility where it does the most good. We want to contribute to solutions that not only reduce emissions but also empower people and ecosystems at Location.” – Emma Hansson, CSR Manager at Plantvision.
Through ZeroMission, we contribute to initiatives such as REDD+ Nakau Loru in Vanuatu (Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation), a UN-supported framework that protects 200 hectares of rainforest, increases access to education, and strengthens biodiversity, while 60% of the revenue remains in the local community. That is climate responsibility in action.
A Comprehensive Approach for the Future
Our climate strategy is about taking real responsibility. By measuring, reducing, and providing climate financing, we’re taking steps that make a difference—both now and in the long term. Climate financing isn’t a shortcut; rather, it reinforces what we’re already doing internally. Because we believe in action over perfection, and that tomorrow is shaped by the choices we make today.
