In all likelihood, most companies will be using 5G technology in their production within a few years. In this section, Micael Hermansson (Director Device Ecosystem, Ericsson) and Gary Troberg (Digitization Manager, ifm electronic AB) together with Plantvision's Fredrik Arrigucci discuss why and how to use 5G in production. They talk about an exciting project in Lilla Edet municipality where the municipality has chosen to replace Scada systems at their water and sewage facilities to modernize and comply with NIS2 – the new EU directive on cybersecurity. In this, they have also chosen to use Siemens Edge, which offers predictive maintenance with the help of AI, among other things.

Magnus Severin, Senior Advisor at Plantvision, together with Linn Fransson, guides us through a topic that is constantly topical for companies that want to improve their competitiveness and profitability. Among other things, they discuss how you can measure your plant efficiency and increase capacity utilization, which key figures you can use, what other benefits come with measuring your plant efficiency and what differences exist between different industries. It is increasingly common for companies to connect their machines to measure, for example, availability and productivity, but at the same time, people and the manual elements of production are often forgotten. There are still many businesses that live with paper-based information for product orders and quality-related procedures. In today's episode, our experts Morgan Bodin and Thomas Bachinger focus on how digitizing information flow and manual work steps can help companies increase their efficiency and raise their quality level. They also describe some of the supporting system solutions and how such solutions can be implemented in practice.
